DAB receiver sales pass 166 million as digital radio expands globally
A brand-new digital radio station in the Netherlands has called on in on-air branding specialists Brandy to create a jingle package to reflect the station’s classic 70s and 80s sound.
Joe 70s & 80s is DPG Media Nederland’s second radio station and the sister station of Qmusic, the commercial market leader in the Netherlands. It first went on air in 2019 as on online-only station, and can now be heard nationally via DAB+.
Brandy claims its contemporary package matches the music of the 70s and 80s. The jingles are a customized production of jingles from the Belgium’s ‘Joe All the Way’ packages; Brandy says it updated the tracks for Joe 70s & 80s with new vocals and a new ‘This is Joe!’ sonic logo.
