Tech Focus: Arrakis Systems notes that AoIP used to be expensive, proprietary and limiting but says that’s no longer true with the company’s Simple IP.
Partnered with Audinate’s Dante platform, Arrakis has created a “cost-effective and powerful” opportunity in the AoIP world. Arrakis provides a turnkey package featuring a Simple IP AoIP link box with eight mono and four stereo I/O.
With the advent of AES67 Simple IP, it is also interoperable with equipment from other manufacturers. Users can now quickly and easily connect Simple IP to any existing AES67-compliant studio. With Simple IP and AES67, facilities no longer need to be exclusive to a manufacturer and stuck with overly priced studio equipment, nor do they need to run complicated audio cabling to punch blocks.
Simple IP is a Dante product and works directly with all Dante-enabled equipment and software, notably Dante Controller.
In addition, Simple IP also allows for the interconnecting of all Arrakis ARC and MARC series consoles via AoIP.
