CRA unveils ‘Audio x Mixed Media Modeling’ session at Heard 2025
Broadcast equipment manufacturer Wheatstone has named Kelly Parker as its new director of product development.
Parker most recently was vice president of broadcast operations for U.S. radio station group owner Townsquare Media so he knows of radio equipment needs. He also has a history with Wheatstone, having worked for the company for almost 15 years starting in 2004.
“I’ve been on the other side of the industry running 300 plus radio stations for the past few years. Things are definitely changing and Wheatstone is uniquely positioned to adapt technology to those changes,” Parker said.
A release explained, “Kelly had a lead role in the development of Wheatstone’s WheatNet IP audio network in early 2005, introducing the first AoIP system to combine routing, control and utility mixers into one intelligent I/O unit. In subsequent years, he led the development of Wheatstone’s flagship LXE console, the first to use soft controls as a reconfigurable AoIP console surface.”
Wheatstone CEO Gary Snow said, “Kelly has that rare perspective that comes with first-hand experience both as a developer and user of our technology, which will be important as we enter what is expected to be a transformational period for broadcasting.”
