Transmitter maker Nautel has teamed up with its Canadian radio equipment confrere Davicom for a new broadcast treat, first time at IBC, the SC4. It is an SNMP-based system controller for Nautel AM and FM transmitters for real time status monitoring and switchover control. It will be available in main/standby and N+1 configurations and operates remotely or locally.
Front-panel controls include pause/local mode, headphone jack and computer network port.
The debut model handles the VX FM transmitter line with GV, NVLT and VS FM lines and VS AM line to follow.
Nautel Head of Marketing and Product Strategy John Whyte said, “We design redundancy and reliability in all of our transmitters to ensure that our users stay on the air, but since many stations prefer to have a backup transmitter for additional peace of mind, these controllers make switchover automatic and easily controlled.”
Nautel will be at stand 8.D70.
