Summ’it aims to connect audiences through audio storytelling
Hubbard Radio — the radio division of Hubbard Broadcasting, a family-owned media company in the United States founded in the 1920s that operates more than 30 radio stations across major markets such as Cincinnati, Chicago, Minneapolis‑St. Paul, Washington D.C. and Seattle — has begun implementing Radio.Cloud’s cloud-based radio operating system at its Cincinnati cluster, starting with 97.3 The Wolf (WYGY). The move marks what the company describes as the first step in exploring flexible, cloud-enabled workflows to support operational efficiency and local content delivery.
According to Hubbard Radio Executive Vice President of Programming Greg Strassell, the goal is to enhance operations and identify efficiencies that traditional systems may not offer. “Hubbard Radio is committed to exploring this technology to enhance our operations and unlock hidden efficiencies and cost savings only possible with a cloud-based system,” he said.
Radio.Cloud states that its browser-based studio environment supports real-time playout, remote production, and localized content delivery. Its platform is designed to facilitate hybrid workflows that combine centralized operations with local programming needs.
Reshaping traditional studio workflows

Dave Garner, vice president of engineering at Hubbard, said the company sees cloud technology as a way to reshape traditional studio workflows. “It will allow us to leverage our local talent and programming content efforts as needed throughout our markets in a reliable, scalable and cost-effective manner,” he said.
The company says this initial deployment is part of a phased rollout across its Cincinnati properties as it continues to evaluate how cloud-based tools can support its broader goals of consistency, quality and localism.
