CRA unveils ‘Audio x Mixed Media Modeling’ session at Heard 2025
In historic St. Albans, England, where the Wars of the Roses are said by many to have started, lies The Pioneer Club, an historic performance venue and skate park with roots back to World War II.
A music studio, outfitted with Genelec speakers, is part of the entertainment arm.
The certified Dolby Atmos studio is run by studio owner and music promoter Headline. Offering a standard Dolby Atmos configuration of 7.1.4, the complement consists of three Genelec 8351Bs paired with W371A woofer systems for the L-C-R positions. Genelec 8341A and 8331A monitors provide the surround and overhead channels. Helping the low end is another subwoofer, a 7380A.
Naturally the system has been configured and calibrated using Genelec’s GLM software.
The centerpiece is a 32-channel Solid State Logic Origin analog console.
Besides traditional studio recording duties, the studio can also do some video and post along with recording live events at The Pioneer Club. Additionally, the club is community-oriented providing an entry-point for local artists plus education.
Genelec Regional Business Development Manager Andy Bensley said, “The new setup not only preserves the legacy of this legendary venue but enhances its future, bringing cutting-edge technology to the local community and fostering the next generation of musicians and producers.”
