Ferncast has announced the integration of its aixtream software into Broadcast Bionics’ VirtualRack application library, creating a streamlined solution for radio and broadcast professionals seeking an accessible and versatile audio platform. This integration allows users to install containerized products quickly through a simplified process, leveraging Broadcast Bionics’ management software and appliances explicitly tailored for broadcast use. VirtualRack’s built-in backup and failover features ensure both security and consistent performance, supporting uninterrupted workflows for critical broadcast operations.
The integration also brings significant flexibility to the platform. Users can initiate aixtream, manage configurations, and update software directly from the VirtualRack management menu, making it easier to adapt and optimize workflows in real time. With aixtream on VirtualRack, users can harness an extensive range of Ferncast’s capabilities, from internet streaming and VoIP to de/muxing, podcasting, loudness control, and transcoding. This functionality, combined with compatibility through API integration, positions aixtream as a powerful addition to the diverse applications within VirtualRack.
“We had two clear goals for VirtualRack,” said Dan McQuillin, founder of Broadcast Bionics. “To be a brand-agnostic solution for containerized broadcast products and to facilitate the management of an entire virtualized broadcast chain. Adding Ferncast’s aixtream streaming capabilities supports both objectives and is a valuable addition to the VirtualRack library.”
