The DRM Consortium says it will use its presence at IBC2025 in Amsterdam to showcase new receiver solutions, highlight additional services and provide updates from countries adopting the digital radio standard.
The group will emphasize the role of DRM in delivering Emergency Warning Functionality and distance learning, alongside the benefits of its energy-efficient platform across all frequency bands, including VHF band III. It will also unveil a new DRM-DAB app, now available in the Google Play store, and demonstrate updated receiver models.

The consortium points to recent digital radio developments in China, Pakistan and Nigeria as signs of DRM’s expanding global footprint. “Enabling modern content in very good audio quality, accompanied by rich multimedia, delivering emergency warnings and distance learning are just some of the aspects we will illustrate at IBC 2025,” said Ruxandra Obreja, DRM chairman.
In addition to the two sessions already announced, DRM has added a third event to its IBC program:
- Sept. 12 at the Starwaves stand, 8.B30h, 4–5:30 p.m., with a focus on receiver solutions, including video delivered using the DRM standard.
- Sept. 13 at the Fraunhofer IIS stand, 8.B80, 4–5:30 p.m., featuring the R8 release of the DRM ContentServer and updates on industry cooperation in receivers.
- Sept. 14 at the Nautel stand, 8.D70, 4–5:30 p.m., presenting the latest DRM announcements.
Visitors will also be able to meet consortium members including Ampegon, BBC, Encompass Media Services, CML Micro, DAC System (8.D22), Kintronic, RFmondial and NewGlee (8.F44).
