Large U.S. radio station group owner Cumulus Media has announced that William E. “Bill” Smith has joined the company as vice president and market manager for its Oxnard-Ventura, California group.
Smith was most recently general manager at American General Media for that company’s Bakersfield, California stations.
Cumulus Media President, Operations, Bob Walker said, “Bill brings a proven track record of building and leading high-performing sales organizations, along with a commitment to partnering with content teams to create meaningful connections that help local businesses grow. We are excited for the energy, leadership, and results he will bring to the community.”
Bill Smith said, “My focus is on understanding the needs of our partners, our customers, and our team so we can build on what’s already working while thoughtfully improving where we can. I’m excited to contribute to that process and help us move forward.”
Smith has also been a local sales manager for Hearst Television in Sacramento, California and a director of sales for News Press Gazette Television in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He holds a BSc. in Broadcasting Communications from Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pennsylvania.
The Oxnard-Ventura group includes KBBY(FM), KHAY(FM), KRUZ(FM), KVYB(FM).
