At IBC2024 in Amsterdam, AEQ will unveil its latest innovations, including the Olympia 3 System, the TP9000 Series intercom panels and the Solaris audio multi-codec gateway. These new products are designed to enhance large-scale event broadcasts, intercom capabilities and high-density audio processing.

Comprehensive commentary solution for large events

The Olympia 3 System is AEQ’s advanced commentary system, tailored for large-scale events with multiple venues and sports. This system manages resources across extensive deployments of Olympia 3 commentator units and can operate with or without an audio matrix.

Key features include:

  • System planner: A software application that allows broadcasters to plan the entire AoIP network, including auxiliary devices, network nodes, and format converters. It manages everything from broadcast venues to signal distribution, ensuring seamless integration and configuration.
  • Olympia 3 CU control/CU setup: This application allows manual or wizard-based configuration of inputs, outputs, sum buses, tie-lines and monitoring sources. It also facilitates communication between technical staff and commentators, offering both visual and audio tracking.

AEQ says it has deployed the Olympia 3 System at major global sporting events over the past two years, delivering high-quality audio to broadcasters and ensuring that commentary reaches audiences with clarity and precision.

Advanced intercom panels with enhanced functionality

The TP9000 Series introduces new desktop and rack-mounted intercom panels, expanding AEQ’s range with features designed for professional broadcasting environments.

Features of the TP9000 Series include:

  • Four-way toggle keys: Each key offers two functions, with individual level adjustment, allowing precise control over communication points.
  • Full-color displays: Information is presented on four RGB graphic displays, providing clear and intuitive interface management.
  • Broadcast-grade audio quality: Designed for broadcasting, the panels include acoustic echo cancellation, three-band parametric EQ, and dynamics adjustment features such as compression, limiting and noise gating.
  • Connectivity: The panels support IP connectivity, handling audio in Dante or AES67 format, and offer low-bit-rate voice options for optimized communication.
  • Expansion options: The series includes the TP9116 rack-format panel, the TP9416 panel and the EP9116 expansion panel, providing scalability to suit various broadcasting needs.

High-density audio processing in a compact form

The Solaris audio multi-codec gateway is a powerful solution for broadcasting companies requiring multiple STL links and remote contributions. It supports up to 64 stereo channels in a single 1U rack unit, making it a highly efficient audio processing tool.

Key features of Solaris include:

  • Scalable channel options: The gateway can be configured with eight to 64 bi-directional stereo channels, allowing for flexible deployment based on specific needs.
  • Dante and AES67 compatibility: Solaris provides local audio I/O via Dante, with an option for redundancy using a second Ethernet port, ensuring reliability in critical applications.
  • Comprehensive audio encoding: The unit supports a range of audio codecs, from legacy formats like G.722 and G.711 to advanced options like Opus and MPEG-4 AAC (available under license).
  • Remote management: Solaris can be fully controlled via a web interface, offering complete configuration and operational control, along with diagnostic tools such as Syslog and SNMP.

AEQ says the Solaris gateway is designed to meet the demands of modern broadcasting, providing robust performance and ease of use in a compact form factor.

AEQ’s new products will be on display at IBC2024 at Booth 8.C55.
