Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio and the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation have opened applications for the 2026 Launch Mentorship Program. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 30.
The organizations have expanded eligibility this year to include women working for technology partners and vendors serving the broadcast industry. Previously focused on women employed directly by broadcasters, the program supports professionals pursuing careers in broadcast engineering, audio production and technical operations.
Launched in 2023, the year-long program pairs one rising professional with an experienced industry leader for individual guidance and professional development. Mr. Master, a provider of broadcast compliance and content-distribution software, sponsors the program.
The selected mentee will explore areas including Federal Communications Commission compliance, RF systems, the Emergency Alert System, IP-based broadcast systems, automation and network operations. The program also covers IT, remote broadcasting, digital audio, streaming and systems integration.
The mentorship includes an opportunity to attend the 2027 NAB Show in Las Vegas. It is designed for women working toward Certified Broadcast Technologist certification, advancing an engineering career or developing expertise in the technologies supporting modern broadcasting.
MIW Board President Sheila Kirby pointed to the need for more women to help develop, operate and lead broadcast technology systems.“Expanding Launch to include women working with our technology partners and vendors allows us to reach talented professionals across a much broader part of the broadcast ecosystem,” she said. “This program is about giving women access to the mentorship, technical knowledge and relationships that can help turn career potential into long-term leadership.”
NAB Leadership Foundation President Michelle Duke added that the expanded criteria would reach more professionals whose expertise supports the operation and development of the broadcast industry.
