Kennedy Elsey, co-host of “Karson & Kennedy” on Audacy’s Mix 104.1 (WBMX-FM) in Boston, accepted the 2026 MIW Airblazer Award on Aug. 7. Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio presented the award during the Talentmasters Morning Show Boot Camp luncheon in Cleveland. MIW is a nonprofit organization that works to advance women’s leadership in radio broadcasting.
MIW and Talentmasters established the Airblazer Award in 2015 to recognize women who have contributed to the radio industry and used their platforms to support their communities. Under the award’s selection process, the previous year’s recipient chooses the next honoree. Karen Carson, host of “Karen Carson in the Morning” on Audacy’s New 102.7 FM in New York and the 2025 recipient, selected Elsey for the 2026 award.
Previous recipients include Delilah in 2024, Dana Cortez in 2023, Patty Steele in 2022, DeDe McGuire in 2021 and Angela Yee in 2020. Earlier honorees were Kellie Rasberry in 2019, Mercedes Martinez in 2018, Roula Christie in 2017 and Angie Martinez in 2016. Ellen K received the inaugural award in 2015.
