The U.S.-based Society of Broadcast Engineers has released the results of a compensation survey of broadcast and media technology engineers.
The annual survey was conducted April 1–May 18 of this year. The professionals group said in the announcement, “This survey provides a wealth of useful information, and it adds to the baseline being developed for subsequent surveys to establish compensation trends.”
Accordingly, the survey presented 25 questions concerning job titles, broadcast market size and compensation in dollars and offered benefits. Data was split between radio or TV results, with detail on job category and market size. Respondents, all anonymous, did not need to be members of SBE.
SBE President Kevin Trueblood said, “The annual SBE Compensation Survey provides an ongoing benchmark of salaries for broadcast and multimedia technicians in the United State. The response rate was lower than we had hoped, so I hope more people will participate next year. The SBE provides the results as a service to our members and the industry.”
