Commercial radio reaches 12.4 million weekly listeners in Australia
The organizers of the 25th SwissRadioDay, on Aug. 29, have released the final list of speakers for this year’s event. SwissRadioDay is the premier event in the Swiss radio industry, bringing together radio experts, thought leaders and innovators from Switzerland and worldwide.
The organizers have also provided details of the topics the speakers will cover. These include how the SRG will discontinue its FM broadcasting from 2025 and refrain from using the FM radio license until the end of 2026, just as some private radio stations will reduce their broadcasting from 2025 or have already begun to do so. Marco Derighetti from SRG/SSR, Philippe Zahno from RRR, Peter Scheurer from VSP, and Juan Widmer from Unikom will provide insights.
Also present are Arabella Droz and Christine Pompéï from RTS on media promotion among young people; Dr. Steven Goldstein from Amplifi Media USA on radio use by Generation Alpha; Marina de Filippi from Swiss TXT on simultaneous translation with AI; Jem Stone, head of social media at the BBC, on where these channels add value in radio and BBC Sounds; York Strempel from KissFM Berlin on next-generation radio talent; Dr. Bertold Heil on device usage in 2035; and Nicola Bomio, the new president of VSP (the Association of Swiss Private Radio Stations) and Maximilian Knop of Konsole Labs on the end of today’s radio apps.
Last but not least, attendees will hear from Dr. Tanja Hackenbruch of Mediapulse on streaming data; Till Simoleit and Sarah Kailuweit from BigFM and Markus Spillmann from #usethenews on news for the next-gen; Dr. Martin Andree from the University of Cologne on big tech; EMEK President Dr. Anna Jobin; Nik Eugster from Radio Energy on radio and the added value of podcasts; Frank Puscher, deputy editor-in-chief at Meedia, on the latest AI developments; and Chris Glanzmann from Radio Virus with Sonart and what it’s like with Swiss music in the program.
