Tucana is a distributor of test, measurement, access and security solutions, for advanced protocol analysis and network management, in It network and telecommunications networks. It is partnering with U.S.-based telecom engineering firm, Waterford Consultants, LLC, to launch Waterford’s RF emissions monitoring system known as “RFIS” (Radio Frequency Infrastructure Sentry) in Europe.
Founded in 2004, Waterford is a professional services organization specializing in FCC and FAA regulatory compliance, engineering, site development, and software and technology-related offerings that service the wireless, utility and commercial real estate industries.
The company introduced its RFIS product in the United States in 2020 in response to escalating protests regarding 5G technology and the unknown long-term effects of increasing amounts of RF emissions from all wireless site types.
RFIS was developed to improve the way wireless site compliance is managed. Prior to the development of RFIS, rooftop, tower, and in-building/DAS sites were generally surveyed and audited annually at best, allowing for a potentially prolonged state of non-compliance, notes the company.
The RFIS system’s 24-hour emissions monitoring and compliance capabilities, on-demand report generation, and interactive user interface assists wireless operators, property owners, and regulators in addressing the public’s concerns regarding the possible health risks associated with cellular antennas and towers.
“We look forward to establishing a long term and successful relationship with Tucana and are excited to introduce RFIS on a global scale,” said Thomas Ferguson, CEO of Waterford.
