Tech Focus: Nautel says its VX FM transmitter series, offering power levels ranging from 150W to 6 kW, has received an “exceptional” response from customers, with shipments approaching 1,000 units since its launch last year.
Nautel has announced plans to incorporate audio player and playlist functionality. With the audio player functionality, users can upload content locally or remotely via an IP connection to make a playlist — no USB, additional cards, or site visits are necessary. The built-in audio player uses the file playlist as an audio source and can be used as an audio loss backup. This capability is slated for availability later this year.
The company points out that many FM transmitters in the 150W to 6 kW class use an inexpensive analog exciter that may be an external unit. Not only did Nautel engineers integrate the VX Series exciter, but they also implemented a true direct-to-channel digital exciter to achieve class-leading performance. That means crystal clear audio and outstanding value.
Nautel adds that the VX Series transmitters can make for powerful and highly cost-effective exciters and are ideal for implementation as AM translators.
