Summ’it aims to connect audiences through audio storytelling
According to Aqua Broadcast, its flagship Cobalt full-featured FM transmitters can now be ordered with MicroMPX SFN built in. The company calls this a world first for any transmitter manufacturer. Aqua adds that this breakthrough comes through a partnership with Thimeo, the innovators behind the MicroMPX codec.
MicroMPX SFN enables the complete FM multiplex signal to be transported over very low-bitrate IP links, with perfect quality, minimal delay and NMEA time synchronization. This makes single-frequency network broadcasting far simpler and more affordable. Traditionally, SFN setups required expensive and complex infrastructure; now, with Cobalt, the technology is right inside the transmitter, ready to go.
For broadcasters, this means reduced costs, fewer external devices and a cleaner, more reliable signal chain. Whether a station covers a wide geographical area or enhances reception in tricky terrain, SFN becomes easier to deploy and maintain.
By integrating MicroMPX SFN at the factory, Aqua Broadcast says the Cobalt is a flexible, efficient and futureproof design for stations of most any size. The product is made in the United Kingdom.
