Ensemble pour le DAB+ urges French government to strengthen public support
It’s always nice to see a new two-channel handheld record come onto the market. Once a staple of the news radio world, the jack-of-all-trades smartphone pushed it to the side for mundane tasks.
But TASCAM’s faith has never faltered as the company has maintained a line of high-quality handheld two-channel digital recorders. The latest iterations are the DR-05XP and DR-07XP.
These affordable battery-operable microSDXC media recorders top out at 32-bit/96 kHz recording. Both feature built-in dual condenser microphones. The DR-05XP mics are set omnidirectionals while the directional pair for the DR-07XP are extended and can be reoriented to broaden the stereo recording field.
USB C connectors can transfer files directly to a computer/DAW or act as a USB microphone for direct recording to a computer/DAW. A mini jack also provides an input for a separate mic or playback device.
Other features include an onboard chromatic tuner, reverb, three low-cut/high-pass filters and an auto tone.
TASCAM Product Specialist Sean Daily said, “The new DR-05XP and DR-07XP recorders build upon the strengths offered by their first-generation siblings while taking both sound quality and features to an entirely new level.”
