Radio TechCon 2024 will offer attendees a virtual tour of The Lantern, the new U.K. headquarters of Bauer Media, as part of this year’s technical and engineering conference. Bauer relocated from Golden Square to The Lantern complex near King’s Cross earlier this year. The move required the construction of dozens of new studios while keeping the old site on air — a process filled with technical challenges. Radio TechCon will feature behind-the-scenes insights into this project on Monday, Nov. 25, at IET London: Savoy Place.
Radio TechCon is aimed at people with a hands-on interest in radio and audio technology. All are welcome, from engineers to producers and those working in related industries.
Additional sessions announced include a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Electrical Association for Women, with stories and insights from IET archivists. The University of Sheffield will also present their latest research on speech-to-text technologies.
Tickets are now on sale for £175 + VAT, with discounts available for members of industry organizations such as The Radio Academy, AudioUK, CMA, SRA and IET.
“Engineering and technology are fundamental to everything we do in the radio, audio and podcasting industry. We’re excited to bring the technical community together to celebrate another year of innovation and learn about the latest technology trends,” says Ann Charles, co-founder of organizers TBC Media Ltd.
