Nautel is expanding its NX AM transmitter line at the lower-power end.
The NAB Show will see the debuts of the NX1, a 1 kW model, and the NX2.5, a 2.5 kW transmitter. The announcement said, “These transmitters bring Nautel’s most advanced AM modulation and digital transmission capabilities to lower power levels for the first time.” They also sport a new look.
It added, “The new products are enabled by a new 250 W RF power module specifically developed to deliver NX class performance in low-power configurations. This new module extends the NX Series’ ultralinear modulation, digital precorrection, and operational redundancy to the low-power AM market.”
Furthermore, “NX1 and NX2.5 are the industry’s first low-power AM transmitters specifically designed to support digital transmission.”
Nautel Head of Marketing and Product Strategy John Whyte said, “Low-power AM transmitters haven’t had these kind of capabilities in the past,” said John Whyte,. “With our new 250-watt RF module, we were able to extend our proven NX architecture into the low-power AM market without compromising performance. It’s exciting to be able to bring exceptional linearity, digital operation, and high efficiency to these broadcasters.”
