Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio — a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing female leadership in radio broadcasting in the United States — is now accepting applications for its 2025–26 “Behind the Mic Mentorship” — a year-long initiative supporting the career growth of on-air female radio professionals.
The program is open to women who have held an on-air role in local or national radio for at least three to five years and want to advance their on-air careers. According to MIW, the selected mentee will benefit from personalized conversations and career advice from experienced industry leaders, as well as travel support to attend NAB Show 2026 next April in Las Vegas.
MIW Board President Sheila Kirby said the program is designed to offer more than just mentoring. “Behind the Mic is more than a mentorship — it’s a powerful opportunity to invest in the future of women’s voices in radio,” she said. “This program is designed to elevate on-air talent who are ready to take the next step in their careers, and we’re proud to support their journey with access, insight and community.”
MIW says the mentorship is available to one female on-air personality working in any U.S.-based music format. Applications close Friday, Aug. 29.
