Radiodays Europe continues to plan for its gathering, which takes place Oct. 9–11 in Lisbon. The hybrid event will be live at the Lisbon Congress Center as well as online for those who cannot attend in-person.
Conference sessions will run in four parallel tracks as previously, and there will be a professional exhibition area and coffee and lunch catering for attendees at the venue. The Lisbon Congress Center is currently planning to operate at 50% of normal room capacity, with safely measures in place.
The Portuguese government has announced its plan to ease COVID restrictions following high vaccination rates in the country. It is currently in phase 1 of 3, which reinstates normal hours for shops, galleries and restaurants and lifts temporary restrictions on nighttime movement. Most restrictions are expected to be lifted by October, said a press release from RDE.
This year’s Radiodays Europe will run from Saturday to Monday. Sunday and Monday are the main conference days, but exhibits, workshops and social events are scheduled through all three days. For those who registered for RDE 2020, the ticket is valid for the 2021 event, and everyone has the option to attend in person or virtually.
Whether online or in-person, registrants will have access to all four tracks of the conference along with networking opportunities. In addition, recordings are be available on Catch Up after the sessions.
Nikolai Thyssen from the Danish Broadcasting Corp. will be one of the guests in a session on “The Rise of Talk Radio.” The interactive session will gather heads of some of the most successful talk radio formats in Europe to discuss the secret ingredient behind the big talk radio success. This session will offer some pointers for those looking for new ideas for their station or show.
Also on the agenda is a three-hour masterclass for Radiodays Europe Women, which will focus on empowering women in the radio or audio workplace.
Registration for the full conference and exhibition is €725 (about $860) +23% VAT, for online and in-person.
