CGI OpenMedia redesign highlighted at IBC

No stranger to the IBC show, CGI will be in Amsterdam with the latest in its portfolio of software media production and workflow tools.

First in line is a redesigned OpenMedia newsroom system. According to a release, “Being developed in close collaboration with broadcasting teams, the new OpenMedia platform follows a human-centered design approach. It will deliver a faster, more intuitive, and highly scalable platform for both traditional broadcast and digital-first environments. Current customers will continue to receive support for OpenMedia Classic, with a smooth evolution path to the new platform planned to support operational continuity and a seamless transition.”

CGI Vice President and Subject Matter Expert for Media Michael Pfitzner said, “The redesigning of OpenMedia reflects a fundamental shift in how newsrooms can operate across hybrid environments. We have reimagined the platform from the ground up, with a modern architecture and a human-centered user interface that gives broadcasters the flexibility to deploy wherever their operations demand, while maintaining the robust functionality that mission-critical newsrooms require.”

Also for OpenMedia, CGI recently announced, to no one’s surprise, an AI collaboration. A release explained, “CGI will be joined by Highfield AI, showcasing collaborative, AI-powered solutions that enhance content production and automate editorial workflows. Purpose-built for broadcasters, Highfield AI integrates seamlessly with CGI’s OpenMedia to support journalists with story creation, automatically populating templates with relevant multimedia assets.”
