The latest Canada Podcast Ranker from Triton Digital for November 2025 places CBC/Radio-Canada at the top of the English-language digital audio rankings, while Cogeco Media continues to dominate the French-language podcast market.
According to the November data, CBC/Radio-Canada recorded an average of 2.2 million weekly downloads, ahead of Audioboom with 1.1 million and the BBC with 596,000. The rankings are based on data certified by the IAB Tech Lab and collected under Triton Digital’s Podcast Metrics v2.20 standards, which are designed to ensure transparency and consistency in podcast measurement.
The top three Canadian-origin English-language podcasts remain unchanged. “Front Burner” holds the number one position, followed by “The World This Hour,” which released 672 new episodes during the measurement period, and “World Report,” which published 28 new episodes. All three programs are produced by CBC/Radio-Canada and continue to show stable audience performance alongside high production output.
Elsewhere in the English-language rankings, “The Current” remains in fourth place with 69 episodes. “Your World Tonight” drops one position to sixth with 28 new episodes. “Someone Knows Something” records one of the most notable gains, climbing eight places despite releasing only a single episode during the period.
Sustained pace of production
On the French-language side, Cogeco Media maintains a strong lead. “La revue de presse de Paul Arcand” (“Paul Arcand’s Press Review”) ranks first with 25 new episodes. “Le Radiojournal” (“The Radio News”), produced by Radio Canada, holds second place with 106 episodes, while “Mario Dumont” (“Mario Dumont”) completes the top three with 400 new episodes.
Other high-volume French-language titles include “Benoît Dutrizac” (“Benoît Dutrizac”) in fourth place with 311 episodes, “Richard Martineau” (“Richard Martineau”) in fifth with 318 episodes and “Les chroniques financières du 98.5” (“The 98.5 Financial Columns”) in sixth with 38 episodes. All are produced within the Cogeco Media or Québecor networks, underlining the sustained pace of production in the French-language podcast sector.
Several podcasts recorded significant upward movement in November. In English, “The Devil You Know with Sarah Marshall” climbed seven places to 14th with six new episodes, while “Sea of Lies” also rose seven places to 22nd despite publishing just one episode. In French, Radio Canada’s “Ça s’explique” (“That Explains It”) gained seven places to 14th with four episodes, and “À la une” (“In the Headlines”) advanced five places to 23rd with 19 episodes.
The November rankings also include new entrants. In English, “Forged,” a CBC/Radio-Canada production, appears in the Canadian-origin podcast rankings for the first time. In French, “Attentats de Paris: 10 ans plus tard” (“Paris Attacks: 10 Years Later”), distributed by Cogeco Media, joins the chart.
Publication volume varies widely across the rankings. “The World This Hour” leads English-language output with 672 episodes, followed by “As It Happens” with 20 episodes and “Q with Tom Power” with 38. In French, “Les actualités Cogeco Nouvelles” (“Cogeco News Updates”) tops the list with 558 episodes, ahead of “Les rencontres de l’heure” (“Today’s Conversations”) with 215 and “Isabelle Maréchal” (“Isabelle Maréchal”) with 149.
All English-language podcasts listed are distributed and monetized by CBC/Radio-Canada. The French-language rankings reflect a more diverse ecosystem, with Cogeco Media, Radio Canada and Québecor each handling both commercial production and advertising sales for their respective content.
