Broadcast Electronics, the Quincy, Illinois-based manufacturer of broadcast transmitters and media software, will introduce its MTX Compact FM transmitter at NAB Show New York, Oct. 21-22. The platform supports analog FM, HD Radio and DRM+ and is available at power levels up to 1 kW.
The 2RU transmitter uses LDMOS RF devices and a switching power supply. Broadcast Electronics says the design reduces energy use and creates a compact, lightweight unit that can be shipped through standard parcel services. Its HTML5 interface provides remote control and monitoring, multi-level security and SNMPv3 connectivity.
MTX also introduces Content Gateway, an integrated system for managing, processing, transporting and monitoring audio at transmitter sites. Options include Stereo Tool audio processing software, MicroMPX for audio transmission over IP networks, GPS synchronization and software for single-frequency networks and on-channel boosters. An optional tuner module, developed with Inovonics, supports FM and HD Radio off-air monitoring and can provide audio input for translators.
“The new MTX Compact FM transmitter series continues the customer-focused innovation and energy we are bringing to BE, delivering cost-effective tools to help our customers connect with their listeners in an evolving market,” said Rich Redmond, president and CEO of Broadcast Electronics. He said MTX and Content Gateway, including the Inovonics partnership, support the company’s approach to providing workflow tools for creating, monetizing, distributing and delivering radio content.
Broadcast Electronics will exhibit at Booth 456 at the Javits Center in New York City.
