Commercial radio reaches 12.8 million weekly listeners, CRA reports
RTL Belgium announced on March 5 that Lloyd Byloos will become radio media director starting Aug. 1.
He will succeed Frédéric Herbays, who is stepping back after more than 35 years in radio, including the past decade in management roles.
Byloos has spent 15 years working across different areas of radio and currently serves as CEO of Fun Radio and LN Radio. “I’m proud to join RTL Belgium,” Byloos said. “In the course of 15 years with Fun Radio, starting as a presenter and now working in a management position, has resulted in an integrated vision on radio as a medium. Today it’s a new chapter, a new adventure, but with the same passion and ambition to continue to grow the brands with RTL.”
Herbays, who has led RTL Belgium’s radio stations for almost four years, said he decided to step back to pursue new projects. “I’m happy to have shared the intense experience with Guillaume Collard and the teams of RTL Belgium,” Herbays said. “Over the many years, my professional commitment came first — now it’s time to concentrate on family life, leaving my seat to Lloyd.”
RTL Belgium CEO Guillaume Collard said he is confident that Byloos will strengthen Radio Contact‘s leadership and help boost Bel RTL’s performance. “His energy and enthusiasm are a precious bonus to tackle our future challenges,” Collard said. “I also wish to thank Fred for his unwavering passion for radio, his loyalty and many achievements for RTL Belgium.”
