Slovenia’s Radio Študent Chooses AEQ Forum IP Desk

Slovenia’s Radio Študent Chooses AEQ Forum IP Desk

Radio Študent is a cooperative radio station based in Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana. Founded in 1969 by the University of Ljubljana’s Student Organisation to serve the university community, it is also one of Europe’s oldest non-commercial, alternative radio stations. It broadcasts locally on 89.3FM during the day and worldwide online at night.

The station offers an eclectic programming mix that includes different forms of popular music, discussions around university politics and social topics, radio plays, and reciting works of literature and poetry. It is also a key part of the university’s journalism program. A team of more than 200 collaborators supports the station’s operation.

When the company’s technical management team decided to upgrade the equipment for the new radio studios, it focused its requirements on a setup that would be especially robust and easy to handle, given the particularities of the operators and the diversity of the programming requirements.

The team settled on the AEQ Forum IP Split console.

According to the station, the console incorporates all the essential features necessary for this environment, including automatic monitor cut, cough-cut, fader start, signaling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, external communications management and intercommunication. It’s also compact and modular and can adapt to various scenarios, including self-operation, control-studio, sound production, mixed configurations and integration in larger installations.
