Swiss broadcaster BNJ operates four radio stations (GRRIF, RJB, RTN, RFJ) and associated websites in the Jura Arc region. As part of its comprehensive multi-year radio business diversification vision, the company chose Dalet Galaxy five to power its infrastructure.

“A major part of our growth strategy is to fully embrace the potential of multimedia radio and new digital and social platforms,” said Pierre Steulet, CEO of BNJ. “The Dalet Galaxy five upgrade and AI capabilities of Dalet Media Cortex will enhance our ability to monetize assets through video sharing on social media channels, providing audiences increasingly personalized, curated news and programming content on the medium of their choice.”

BNJ will use Dalet Galaxy five to connect its four radio sites, creating a centralized space for digital-first workflows, archive enrichment and content recommendations. According to the company, the new editorial, video and advertising production capabilities allow delivery of hyper-targeted and curated news, talk shows, podcasts and music programming simultaneously across traditional, digital and social channels. It also generates new advertising revenue through “sharable” visual radio.

“Watching radio is a big trend,” explained Johann Zemmour, Dalet’s general manager, EMEA and APAC. “Audiences want to see and share popular or controversial clips. Advertisers want their ads at the start of the clip to guarantee exposure to viewers. Dalet’s visual radio capabilities brings audiences closer to DJs, journalists, and the stations themselves.”

The Galaxy five platform is equally fluent with video and audio, notes the company, and will integrate with studio equipment and services. Video and audio clips can be edited, branded and captioned for immediate upload to social media platforms.

Journalists will also use Dalet OneCut and Dalet On-the-Go, which are complementary tools for mobile and craft editing.

“Dalet Media Cortex will automate the indexing and documentation of all new and archived content,” said Cédric Richard, IT manager at BNJ. “Relevant content discovery and timely recommendations will help journalists quickly develop new and evolving story narratives, offering audiences a greater variety of local news and programming as well as more opportunities to engage with journalists on a story of interest.”

APIs will also assist to integrate a wide range of systems and services, including MusicMaster for music programming and Lawo for playout. The unified workflow will streamline processes, offering a smoother experience for DJs, journalists, promoters and audiences alike, said Dalet.
