WorldDAB ready to roll in London

WorldDAB summit 2022

WorldDAB is gearing up for its 2022 Summit on Nov. 17. in London with four sessions celebrating DAB’s progress in multiple markets. The WorldDAB Summit is the organization’s flagship annual event and brings together experts from radio, automotive and equipment suppliers.

This year has been particularly upbeat for DAB, especially across automotive; in Europe, according to the organization, almost all new cars now come with DAB+ as standard. In addition, many European countries are furthering their march toward wider DAB coverage. Switzerland is preparing for its FM switch off in 2024; Germany is expanding the number of services and transmitters on air; the United Kingdom is continuing its aggressive rollout of small-scale DAB; and France is preparing for a major marketing campaign next year.

Ahead of the event, WorldDAB President Patrick Hannon has pledged support for several priorities.

“Looking ahead we are focused on three key opportunities,” he said. “Established markets; we need to ensure that established and emerging DAB+ marketing optimize their prospects for success.

“Automotive; the EEEC ensures that DAB+ is standard in new cars. Our next challenge is to optimise the listener experience.

“New markets; our third challenge is to make further progress in new markets – in Eastern and Southern Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.”

Hosted by top tech broadcaster Spencer Kelly, this year’s Summit brings together 22 speakers across 17 presentations to address these opportunities, including a dedicated session on the in-car audio experience.

It is open to members and non-members and is taking place in person and online. You can register here.
