Ensemble pour le DAB+ urges French government to strengthen public support
Radiodays Europe 2026 in Riga, Latvia, March 22–24, will bring together broadcasters, podcasters, technology companies and content creators from across the audio broadcasting industry. According to Radiodays Europe, the opening session will explore how radio and audio are evolving and the challenges facing the sector.
Scheduled speakers include Peter Niegel, CEO of Radiodays Europe; Baiba Zūzena, chairwoman of the board at Latvijas Sabiedriskais medijs, Latvia’s public media organization; artist and broadcaster Lady Unchained; Stefan Möller, president of the Association of European Radios; Edita Kudláčová, head of radio at the European Broadcasting Union; Clive Dickens, managing partner at Meliora Company; Nikolaj Vitting Hermann, head of content and corporation at Danish public broadcaster DR; Mohit Bakaya, controller of BBC Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra; and Kari Laakso, president of Nelonen Media.

Additional speakers featured in the program include Sami Virtanen, senior business development manager at Sanoma Media Finland; Hélène Lecomte, journalist and former managing editor of LCI in France; Ryan Merkley, chief operating officer at NPR in the United States; Stevie Middleton, commissioning executive at the BBC; and Jan Poelmann, director of the demand side at Bauer Media Group in the United Kingdom.
Radiodays Europe says the discussion will address themes shaping the sector, including changing audience behavior, inclusion and diversity, the role of public and commercial media, the impact of artificial intelligence and new technologies and evolving revenue models.
