Lawo will present a live implementation of its Dynamic Media Facility approach at IBC2026, taking place Sept. 11–14 at the RAI Amsterdam. The showcase will include additions to the HOME ecosystem, the European trade-show debut of Edge One and software updates for the mc² production console family and Power Core. Lawo will focus on how broadcasters can allocate processing and connectivity resources dynamically across centralized, remote and hybrid production environments.
Lawo’s HOME management and orchestration platform will form the foundation of the demonstration. HOME handles device discovery, security, authentication and control across IP-based media infrastructures. Together with HOME Apps, its portfolio of server-based processing microservices, the platform allows operators to deploy, scale and reassign processing independently of dedicated hardware.
The Dynamic Media Facility demonstration will show operators allocating processing resources across studios, central facilities, remote-production environments and hybrid infrastructures. This approach replaces fixed relationships between production rooms and processing hardware with shared resources that teams can assign according to production requirements. Lawo says the technology already supports major international sports productions while helping operators reduce the amount of dedicated infrastructure they require.
Lawo will also outline its collaboration with Grass Valley on multi-vendor interoperability. The companies are validating orchestration, control and media exchange between Grass Valley AMPP and Lawo HOME. Both companies have aligned the work with open-system principles and the European Broadcasting Union’s Dynamic Media Facility initiative.
Two new HOME Apps will extend the ecosystem into real-time graphics processing, branding and compositing. Operators will be able to deploy and manage these functions alongside HOME services for audio, monitoring, multiviewing, conversion and transcoding. The additions aim to bring a wider set of production processes under the same orchestration layer.
Edge One extends connectivity
In demonstrating Edge One, Lawo will show how the compact platform combines audio, video, networking and processing for broadcast, Pro AV, venue, flypack and remote-production applications. Its modular design allows operators to adapt a single unit for different edge-connectivity and commentary requirements.
The platform provides bidirectional SDI, HDMI, Madi, USB-C audio, GPIO and synchronization interfaces, together with interchangeable audio I/O modules. Users can swap the modules to reconfigure Edge One for studios, venues, production trucks or commentary positions. As a native SMPTE ST 2110 platform, it supports network bandwidth of up to 25 Gbps and can handle audio embedding, de-embedding, channel shuffling and signal transport.
Lawo will offer Edge One in audio, video and audio + video configurations through its FLEX licensing model. Operators can add JPEG XS encoding and decoding, frame synchronization, commentary functions, Madi I/O and mc²-grade DSP processing as required. This approach allows facilities to match the device’s capabilities to a production instead of installing every function from the outset.
Lawo will present mc² Software Release 12.4 with workflow and control enhancements for live production. The release adds Real-Time Analyzer support, zoom-module pop-ups for touchscreen operation and third-party input-stage control through a new HOME data model. It also introduces external channel-preset recall through Ember+, sample-based delay adjustment and API-key authentication for secure MCX-to-HOME connectivity. Visitors will also receive a preview of mc² Release 12.6. The forthcoming version will introduce dynamic assignment between control surfaces and control systems through HOME, allowing facilities to use consoles more flexibly across productions. It will also provide browser-based mxGUI operation through the HOME mc² Control System App and enhance AUX bus assignment displays.
The latest Power Core software release adds support for Lawo OnAir Designer and introduces a five-band equalizer with four parametric bands and an additional filter band. Lawo will make the processing available in both the Power Core hardware platform and the HOME Power Core App. The update gives radio and broadcast operators more control over processing while maintaining common workflows across hardware and server-based deployments.
Lawo will complete the showcase with its mc² console family, Power Core, A__UHD audio engines and A__stage stageboxes. HOME integrates these IP-native systems through open standards for applications ranging from compact studios to large broadcast and sports-production facilities.
