2 Mins of Tech: CGI marks AI content across the dira workflow

In the latest “2 Mins of Tech” video from IBC2026 in Amsterdam, Michael Thielen, vice president for media solutions at CGI, presents a new version of dira Dimension, the company’s radio production and playout suite. He also outlines additions to dira Onair Player and dira Medox, its web-based multimedia content management and editing tool.

The updates focus on AI-assisted workflows, including generative tools such as text-to-speech. Thielen explains that these capabilities can help journalists prepare material for broadcast quickly, including when no presenter is available in the studio.

Thielen says CGI has accounted for the EU AI Act by marking material generated or modified by AI throughout the workflow. Broadcasters can deploy dira in the cloud or locally, while CGI is also presenting the latest version of OpenMedia, its newsroom platform used by broadcasters worldwide.
