GatesAir to unveil new Intraplex solutions at IBC2024

GatesAir to unveil new Intraplex solutions at IBC2024
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

GatesAir will introduce three new Intraplex AoIP solutions at IBC2024. The global debuts include the fourth entry in GatesAir’s second generation of Intraplex IP Link codecs and the company’s first Intraplex solution designed to assist DAB broadcasters in enhancing their IP contribution and distribution strategies.

“As networking technologies continue to advance, audio over IP offers broadcasters opportunities to simplify infrastructure and reach larger audiences,” said Keyur Parikh, vice president of engineering at GatesAir. “We continue to evolve the Intraplex family to help broadcasters operate more efficiently and extend their content’s reach,” he added.

New two-channel codec and MPX Bridge

IBC2024 will see the launch of GatesAir’s Intraplex IP Link 200n codec, which offers a full duplex, two-stereo-channel option within the second generation of IP Link solutions. The IP Link 200n follows the IP Link 100n, a single stereo-channel version introduced last year. The IP Link 200n includes network path redundancy via GatesAir’s Dynamic Stream Splicing software, 10-band audio processing technology, updated audio compression algorithms and Secure Reliable Transport support. It also features cloud connectivity for live stream monitoring and backward compatibility with first-generation IP Link codecs.

GatesAir will demonstrate all four second-generation IP Link solutions, including the IP Link 100c, a half-rack codec ideal for remote broadcasting and the IP Link 100e, a module for GatesAir Flexiva transmitters. These solutions also support GatesAir’s patented SynchoCast3 technology for scalable simulcasting across a broader geographic area.

GatesAir will also introduce a new MPX Bridge device for transporting AES-192 and digital MPX signals over an IP network. The MPX Bridge enables the digital transport of FM composite signals without needing a new processor. The device is compatible with all second-generation IP Link products and is available immediately.

Low-latency DAB transport

GatesAir will also unveil an enhancement to its IPConnect transport technology to help broadcasters establish ultra-low-latency IP transport for large DAB networks. The enhancement allows DAB broadcasters to migrate from ETI or satellite-based distribution to IP, reducing operational expenses. The technology ingests EDI streams and wraps them in the SRT protocol for transport across the DAB network, with network path redundancy provided by DSS software.

“Many broadcasters using EDI to distribute DAB signals via terrestrial IP networks face packet losses and network jitter,” Parikh said. “GatesAir’s IPConnect technology delivers the reliability and security needed for stress-free distribution.” GatesAir’s new Intraplex solution for DAB transport with SRT is compatible with all GatesAir DAB transmitters, including the Maxiva OP Series, MultiD multicarrier systems, and PMTX-1 outdoor weatherproof transmitters.

GatesAir will demonstrate these Intraplex networking solutions and DAB transmitters at Stand 8.C74.
