U.DAB launches largest small-scale DAB multiplex in the U.K.
Germany-based AVT has a couple of new goodies coming to the IBC show.
For the DAB+ market comes a “monitoring decoder [that] succeeds the Magic AD1 that was aimed primarily at older ETI networks. The new system can monitor up to 50 EDI inputs simultaneously while also decoding 25 signals at a time.” The DABMUX plus is pictured above.
AVT Marketing and Sales Manager Lukas Mahler Jr. explains, “We had the intention of offering a scalable monitoring solution to give customers the chance to cut down on hardware while keeping management centralized. The decoded signals are available as Ravenna/AES67 outputs and additionally listening to the audio signal is supported in the web user interface. The new EDI platform still maintains compatibility with older ETI networks via an optional module.”
It is compatible with AVT’s system management suite for integration with other AVT products within a facility.
And continuing with that theme, AVT’s Magic Server IT network can now cover all the bases by putting the company’s telephone hybrids and audio codecs to use in broadcast and nonbroadcast networks within a company-wide network. See a screenshot below.
Mahler says: “We wanted to give customers the option to choose freely between traditional hardware systems and scalable software solutions without compromising quality or functionality. The new software-based approach is freely scalable and can be used for small scale applications as well as complex, large scale installations at public or commercial broadcasters.”
