WorldDAB to host seminar on DAB+ signal distribution

WorldDAB’s spectrum and network implementation committee is hosting a seminar on signal distribution on March 9 in Geneva and online.

There are many ways to transport the signal from the multiplex to the transmitter and different strategies to achieve reliability and redundancy. Each network operator tackles signal distribution differently. This seminar will look at the various methods used in several advanced DAB markets and should be particularly interesting to broadcasters, regulators, policymakers and professional equipment manufacturers.

The March 9 seminar is from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. CET (8.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. GMT) at the Genève meeting room at the EBU, Grand Saconnex, Geneva, Switzerland and virtually on Zoom.

Hanns Wolter of DAB Italia, chair of the WorldDAB spectrum and network implementation committee, will present a DAB+ global update; after that, Stanislas Roehrich, chief technical officer for digris AG, will talk about regional DAB+ network feeding via IP links. After a short coffee break, Emanuele Mancuso, a network assistant with DAB Italia, will speak about DAB+ signal distribution over IP using EDI + SRT.

After that there will be a panel discussion with opportunities to ask questions, and a network lunch for those attending in person.

You can register to attend this seminar virtually or in person here.
