Tieline ViA Manages Podcast Productions

Tieline has added new features to the ViA portable remote codec.

Now delivering FTP and podcasting capability directly from the codec in the field, the system doubles as a fully integrated podcast production studio.

According to the company, with Via users can simultaneously record and play back audio files to create a podcast on the go while live at a remote. In addition, it says, reporters in the field can record a post-game show, along with post-game interviews and sponsors’ messages.

“It’s possible to pre-record music and messages onto an SD card and insert this in the ViA ahead of a live event,” the company explains. “Then, at the remote site, pre-record interviews onto the codec before going live. Users can simultaneously record their output onto the ViA’s SD card to create the podcast recording.”

Operators can select or deselect input sources as neccessary. At the end of the broadcast they subsequently navigate to the “FTP Upload” page and tap “Send” to upload the file.

The company adds that it’s possible to implement a similar workflow for post-game sports show podcasts as well.
