Tieline says that its new ViA Duo portable codec unifies IP workflows by delivering an all-in-one solution for remote broadcasts, commentary and off-tube broadcasting. Designed for reporters, commentators and remote production crews, it serves as an ultra-portable broadcast platform functioning as an IP codec, AoIP commentary node, or off-tube production solution. According to the company, ViA Duo is ideal for reporters to use with a guest; two commentators broadcasting sports events; announcers working from home or talk show OBs; sports commentary as an AoIP node using AES67, ST 2110-30, Ravenna, Livewire, or Dante; and off-tube commentary (supports audio and video streaming).
Previously, broadcasters required separate equipment for such functions. The ViA Duo streamlines these functions into an all-in-one solution, consolidating these capabilities into a single, lightweight package. This delivers substantial cost savings and enhances operational flexibility.
ViA Duo’s video streaming capability delivers off-tube commentary support, allowing commentators to receive a live game-day feed and call live from anywhere in the world — even from their home. ViA Duo fits in the palm and features two XLR mic/line/AES3 inputs and headphone outputs.
