Comrex calls FieldLink “a new, innovative solution for sideline reporting.”
Designed to replace expensive wireless mic/IFB solutions, FieldLink attaches to a directional wireless access point in the press box. Sideline reporters can use their smartphones to send and receive high-quality, low-delay audio using the free Comrex FieldTap app available for Android and iOS.
Comrex says that FieldLink has pro-grade audio I/O to deliver sideline audio and provide IFB back to reporters. Using a QR code on FieldLink’s front-panel LED display, users can configure their phones to connect to the secure Wi-Fi network associated with FieldLink and return to the press box.
An additional codec upgrade allows FieldLink to serve as a connection back to the studio. Compatible with all Comrex IP codecs, FieldLink sends and receives audio to/from the public internet, while simultaneously handling sideline reporter audio. FieldLink will allow for two users simultaneously, along with the studio connection. It works with any external mixer capable of generating a mix-minus or interfaces directly with a Comrex Access NX in a new special mode that delivers a mix-minus to the sideline.
