Dielectric promotes Savage to VP marketing and business services
Speaker maker KRK, they of the distinctive yellow/gold woofer cones, has announced the blast off of the fifth generation of its Rokit line of small-to-mid size two-way powered speakers.
Available in five-, seven- and eight-inch woven Kevlar aramid fiber woofer sizes, Rokit Generation Five uses an upgraded one-inch silk dome tweeter said to possess extended range.
Also new are three “Voicing Modes,” mix, focus or create, “that are optimized for different monitoring applications.”
KRK explains: “Mix Mode, with flat frequency and phase response, is best for mixing, mastering, and critical listening. Create Mode is a more inspirational voicing best used for writing, producing, and casual listening. Focus Mode is a mid-focused voicing for critical analysis of the midrange band where vocals and most instruments have the most energy.”
In addition there are 25 boundary and EQ “combinations to help minimize and correct problems in your acoustic environment.” There’s a small LCD screen on the rear to display these settings.
With Class D amplifiers onboard these monitors will be relatively light.
