CGI to modernize France Télévisions newsrooms

CGI will use its OpenMedia solution to modernize the France Télévisions newsrooms

CGI has announced it is to modernize and standardize the France Télévisions newsrooms using its OpenMedia solution. The four-year contract will cost more than 3.5 million euros.

France Télévisions says this will provide a standard tool for all its newsrooms TV, radio and digital in all territories. CGI will oversee the complete deployment, from the organization of the specification workshops to the implementation and software maintenance of the solution.

CGI says OpenMedia will enable the French media group adapt to market standards, overcome internal developments and facilitate collaboration between its various entities. The platform will also offer the group’s 3,000 journalists considerable savings in terms of time, efficiency and complete visibility of assigned tasks and their completion.

Romuald Rat, director of reports and information resources, and Skander Ben Attia, director of engineering for France Télévisions, said, “The implementation of a common tool for all of our newsrooms is a major project that is part of our broader digital transformation strategy. We have chosen CGI and its proven OpenMedia solution to optimize our activities and enrich our media offer to continue providing the most qualitative information possible to our viewers, listeners and readers,” he said.
