Broadcast Radio integrates Promo Only music downloads into Myriad playout

Broadcast Radio, a developer of software and cloud-based tools for radio stations, has announced a partnership with Promo Only, a provider of licensed music subscription services for DJs, radio stations and broadcasters, that will allow stations to download newly released music directly inside the Myriad Playout and Automation system.

The company says the integration gives stations with a Promo Only subscription the ability to browse, preview and download tracks from within Myriad’s Import Wizard, removing the need to manually download and import music from external systems.

Promo Only provides subscription-based music delivery for radio stations, supplying new releases daily across a range of genres. The service includes multiple edits of tracks, such as clean radio versions and extended mixes, and supports high-quality audio formats, including WAV.

Broadcast Radio says the new integration introduces a Promo Only Online (Pool) button inside the Import Wizard. Once logged in, users can view available tracks, preview songs, filter results by genre or mix type and identify which items have already been downloaded.

Managing the full import process

Stations can select multiple tracks and import them in a single operation. According to Broadcast Radio, Myriad then manages the full import process, downloading the files, applying metadata and album artwork, attaching ISRC codes where available and removing silence at the beginning of the audio.

The system also normalizes audio levels according to station presets and automatically sets the extro time before adding the tracks to the Myriad media library, where they are ready for playback and scheduling.

Broadcast Radio says the feature will be included in the upcoming Myriad Playout and Automation v6.9 release, which is expected to enter beta testing soon. The integration will be available to Myriad users at no additional cost, although access to the music catalogue requires a valid Promo Only subscription.

Nick James Hahn, director of marketing and distribution at Promo Only Inc., said, “Promo Only and Broadcast Radio have been at the forefront of their field for decades, so it’s great to collaborate for this unique integration. We always promise a simple and great value way for stations to obtain their music, and this new offering takes things to the next level with everything just a few clicks away.”
