Aeranti-Corallo flags cut in state support for local broadcasters

Aeranti-Corallo

Aeranti-Corallo, an Italian trade association representing local radio and television broadcasters, has expressed concern over a reduction in state contributions to local broadcasters in 2025 under Presidential Decree 146/2017.

According to the organization, the total allocation for next year will be €111.6 million, down from €130.3 million in 2024 and significantly below the 2023 figure of €136 million.

Here is a summary of the annual funding levels:

  • 2021: €120.1 million
  • 2022: €125.1 million
  • 2023: €136 million
  • 2024: €130.3 million
  • 2025: €111.6 million

Aeranti-Corallo says the drop is concerning and is assessing how to recover lost resources and prevent further reductions. The organization emphasized that these contributions are vital for supporting local news production and maintaining employment across the sector.
