AEQ Updates Onda Madrid With AoIP Connectivity

Onda Madrid is a public radio station run by the government of the community of Madrid, Spain. The station is part of the Madrid Radio-Television group. It has been affiliated with the Federación de Organismos de Radio y Televisión Autonómicos (FORTA) association since its creation. The programming focuses heavily on news as well as local and regional sports.

Onda Madrid started broadcasting in 1985 from a station in the center of Madrid. AEQ supplied the station with the first BC 2000 analog consoles. The station relocated to its current facilities in Image City over two decades ago, and has maintained its relationship with AEQ throughout the years for their technical updates.

AEQ notes that the station has many mixing consoles, audio codecs and radio automation systems as part of their technical equipment inventory, studios and OB vans.

Onda Madrid’s most recent update was a significant one that transitioned the studio to AoIP. It installed an AEQ BC-2000 D Router audio matrix with Netbox 32 AD Dante AoIP interfaces. Additionally, the broadcaster set up an AEQ Systel IP 16 VoIP broadcast phone system with a pool of Phoenix Stratos audio codecs, with software that unifies the control of broadcast telephony and audio routing. All the recording studios have AEQ Arena digital mixing consoles, updated for AoIP connectivity.
