WorldCast Updates Flagship Ecreso Transmitter

Version 2.3.0 includes advanced features and improvements for additional reliability, efficiency, and control

WorldCast Systems has announced a new version of its Ecreso FM 510 kW transmitter

The Ecreso is a fully digital transmitter for analog FM that includes an integrated digital modulator, five-band sound processor, RDS encoder and MPX over AES compatibility. It allows extensive remote control by a web server through its measurement interface, SNMP management, RS232 or GPIOs.

WorldCast Systems says version 2.3.0 includes advanced features and improvements for additional reliability, efficiency, and control. These include:

  • An update of its patented SmartFM technology that enables broadcasters to reduce their energy consumption by up to 40%. The company says that in addition to updating their “five saving strategies,” SmartFM V2 includes a new “Extreme Savings” strategy for when broadcasters need it most.
  • Automation – the company says Ecreso FM is the only transmitter to automate a configuration change or send GPIO commands in case of specific alarms.
  • Reinforced security from remote FTP through new access restrictions.
  • RDS improvements, including UTF8 management and Danish language characters.

“In line with our objective to continuously offer our customers the most advanced solutions, we continuously release new versions reflective of evolving market needs and customer return on experience,” says David Houze, product manager at WorldCast Systems. “We hope the features included in 2.3.0 will benefit Ecreso users with easier maintenance, more control, and more savings.”
