WorldCast Systems has announced a new security feature in its Ecreso FM transmitter range to protect broadcasters from cyberattacks.
With the latest version of Ecreso FM transmitters (1.10.1), WorldCast has improved the security policy on the FTP access. Only one user account with a reinforced password is now available and limited to audio file management. The company says this update is the first milestone of a global approach to integrate advanced security features into the transmitters and helps the customer to protect their broadcast chain from network attacks.
David Houze, Ecreso product manager, says, “All WorldCast products are designed to improve broadcasters’ total cost of ownership by lowering operating expenses and maximizing transmitter uptime. The new security features implemented into the range of transmitters reflect these core values.” Houze adds that by preventing cyberattacks, broadcasters maintain their on-air time, ensure optimal equipment performance, and avoid unnecessary costs relating to system recovery and downtime.
