Wheatstone to debut Neuron audio processor at IBC2025

Wheatstone will introduce its new Neuron FM/HD/DAB+ spectral audio processor at IBC2025 in Amsterdam. The company says Neuron offers the sound and features of a top-line processor at a lower price point.

Neuron provides separate FM and HD/DAB+ processing paths, each optimized for its respective platform. Features include a multipath mitigator for consistent coverage, SCAs and a stereo generator, as well as a full-featured RBDS/RDS generator. Additionally, Wheatstone’s baseband 192 interface digitizes the multiplex spectrum, eliminating the need for an analog composite connection between processing and transmission.

According to Wheatstone, Neuron uses patented one-third octave band resolution for precision transient peak control without suppressing critical frequencies. This, the company says, allows more energy to be driven into the processor while maintaining peak compliance, resulting in a fuller on-air sound.

Wheatstone will showcase Neuron at stand 8.A56 during IBC2025.
