UK-based manufacturer Vortex Communications is unveiling its new CallMe-TX Software Codec at the Media Production and Technology Show in London on May 11–12, stand U240.

Launched at NAB last month and making its U.K. debut, Vortex says CallMe-TX is a multichannel IP audio codec which runs in Windows and provides the same capability as its CallMe-T desktop hardware codec. It is licensed by number of calls and number of audio channels, which makes it ideal as a studio ingest for multiple contribution sources.

Vortex says that CallMe-TX provides multiple CallMe IP Audio Codecs on a single platform, eliminating the need for individual hardware devices.

Vortex will also exhibit its CallMe-G unit, which the company says provides IP audio connectivity for Glensound ISDN Mixers. This provides an easy upgrade path to IP environments for these popular mixers without losing any of the existing capability, including ISDN and battery operation.

The CallMe-G unit will be alongside the rest of the CallMe family of hardware and cloud solutions for broadcast, podcast, home studio and remote working.
