Tonstudio Gress picks Genelec for Dolby Atmos room

The Brothers Gress, founders of Stuttgart, Germany’s, Tonstudio Gress, a post and multiapplication audio studio, have chosen Genelec speakers for their Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 control room.

According to a release, “The system includes 8040B monitors for the LCR positions, 8030Cs for surrounds and 8020Ds for height channels.”

Raymond Gress said, “We’ve been working with immersive sound for years. The Genelecs gave us better localization, more detail and less fatigue. It was exactly what we needed.”

Working directly with Dolby along with dealer SMM Munich, a dealer for Genelec and Dolby, Gress concluded, “It’s a setup that just works — day in, day out. We were able to get the precise results we wanted and stay completely within our budget.”

The new room is used for film, television and even installation programming such as museum shows.
