The Infinite Dial Australia presents key research

The Infinite Dial Australia presents the results of its sixth annual study of Australian’s digital audio behaviour in a free 30-minute webinar at 10.30am (AEST) on Tuesday 28 June 2022 (8.30pm EDT on Monday 27 April 2022).

Presented by Larry Rosin, president of Edison Research, the Infinite Dial Australia study 2022 will illustrate how digital audio has continued to grow at a remarkable pace, especially in podcast and smart speaker listening, with listeners continuing to engage with radio.

The Infinite Dial is the longest running survey of digital media consumer behavior in the United States

It says the study will break down the latest trends and includes comparisons with the U.S. market as well as perspectives on the year ahead.

Top level findings include:

  • Radio is overwhelmingly the dominant form of audio content
  • 84% of Australians listened to radio in-car, up from 66% in 2020
  • 37% of people confirmed they had listened to at least one podcast in the past month, up from 25% in 2020
  • 86% of Australians listened to live radio or catch-up radio podcasts each month, up from 85% in 2020

The research is sponsored by Commercial Radio Australia and co-sponsored by LiSTNR and Triton Digital.
