Telos Alliance and Pluxbox have integrated Minnetonka Audio ARC real-time audio processing into the CoreOC software-based operational platform. The integration gives broadcasters and media organizations access to ARC processing from within the environment they already use to manage broadcast and media workflows. It also avoids introducing a separate processing layer or requiring operators to move between systems.
The companies use Media eXchange Layer, to connect the applications and exchange uncompressed audio, video and metadata in real time. The open-source technology forms part of the European Broadcasting Union’s Dynamic Media Facility reference architecture and supports interoperability between professional media-production applications. Within the CoreOC integration, MXL provides the exchange layer between Pluxbox’s workflow platform and ARC’s software-based audio processing.
Markus Hintz, vice president of business development at Telos Alliance, noted that integrating ARC through MXL gives broadcasters “access to sophisticated audio processing directly within a modern software-based workflow.” Caspar Adriani, CTO at Pluxbox, added, “For our customers, that means access to advanced audio processing without disrupting the workflows they already know.” The companies say the connection shows how broadcasters can combine applications from different suppliers within software-defined facilities.
The ARC integration represents the first stage of a wider collaboration between Telos Alliance and Pluxbox. The companies plan to add Minnetonka Audio UPMAX upmixing, Omnia Forza audio processing and Telos VX broadcast VoIP capabilities to CoreOC. They have not announced a timetable for those additional integrations.
